Radicchio red orchid is a spectacular early red chicory with a rosette shaped head and can be used in salads as well as cooking Does well in spring and autumn although cold weather is necessary to obtain a very deep red and is one of the easiest red chicories to grow. Plant any time for baby leaves for salad. Packet contains 5g for about 2,000 seeds. Plant in spring and autumn, or anytime for young salad leaves. This is one of the easiest radicchios to grow and will produce a solid deep red head in about 65 days. Can be grown in seed boxes for an early start in cooler areas, or sow directly into prepared beds where the climate is warmer.
