"Long violet" eggplant is a good reliable producer with deep purple fruit to about 20cm. Has a classic rich taste and is grown all over Italy. 3g packet for about 350 seeds. Start transplants about 10 weeks before set out date or direct sow but eggplant seed needs heat to germinate. Space seedlings at 40cm. Black plastic “mulch” increases rate of growth. 65-70 days to maturity.
